408th Fighter Group
The 408th Fighter Group is an inactive United States Air Force unit. Its last assignment was with 25th Air Division (Air Defense Command), based at Kingsley Field, Oregon. It was inactivated on 1 January 1970
History
Served as an operational training and a replacement training unit. Also participated occasionally in demonstrations and maneuvers 1944-1944. Designated as SAC Fighter-Escort squadron 1953, never made active. Air Defense of Pacific Northwest, 19556-1970

- Activated on 5 April 1943
- Redesignated as 408th Fighter-Bomber Group in August 1943
- Disbanded on 1 April 1944
- Established as: 408th Strategic Fighter Wing, on 3 March 1953
